The De Facto Partner Visa is available to partners of Irish citizens or legal residents who are not married but can demonstrate a durable, genuine relationship — typically evidenced by at least two years of cohabitation.

Applicants must provide substantial proof of their shared life, including joint leases, utility bills, financial records, and photographs. Once approved, the applicant may reside in Ireland on the basis of their relationship and may be eligible to work or study without additional permissions.
