Irish General Employment Permit

A General Employment Permit is one of the main routes for non-EEA nationals to work in the Republic of Ireland. It allows Irish employers to hire overseas workers for occupations where a skills shortage exists.

The application process involves submitting a detailed online application to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE). Employers must demonstrate that the position meets the minimum salary and qualification thresholds and that there is a genuine need to hire a non-EEA worker.
